(Bél Mátyás) Bel, Matthias: Compendium Hungariae geographicum, ad exemplar notitiae Hungariae novae historico-geographicae, ~, in partes IV... Editio tertia auctior et correctior.
Posonii et Cassoviae, 1777. Joannes Michael Landerer. 1pl(s). (engraved frontispiece)+(14)+312+(47)p.+1 folding map(s)
Bound with:
Compendiolum regnorum Slavoniae, Croatiae, Dalmatiae, Galliciae, et Lodomeriae, magnique principatus Transilvaniae geographicum. Supplementis et notis brevibus illustratum.
Posonii et Cassoviae, 1777. Landerer. (8)+170+(28)p.
Mátyás Bél's textbook on national studies was first published in 1753. It is interesting that the title page of the 1779 edition also reads "Editio tertia auctior & correctior". The "Compendiolum", which describes the connected parts (partes adnexae) of Hungary, was published for the first time at that time. The map in our copy, made by Sámuel Mikoviny, is missing from almost all other pieces.
Contemporary leather.
