(Pázmány Péter transl.): Kempis Tamasnak Christus követeserül Négy könyvei
Posonban, 1648. Aksamitek Zacharias. 1pl(s). (rézmetszetes címlap)+(6)+485p.
Kempis' highly influential work, which contains reflections that help to renew the religious feeling, was first translated by Gergely Vásárhelyi. However, Pázmány's translation became popular thanks to his much-heralded translation method. First published in 1624, this third edition is a reprint of that.
The title page is the work of the Viennese engraver Elias Wiedemann, mainly known for his series of portraits of famous men. It depicts an angel and people following Christ with a cross, and the coat of arms of the Hédervári family can be seen in the lower part.
Worn, contemporary leather with clasps.
